WF.M WAHLFACH geosourced prototyping workshop
This elective takes place in the form of an intensive workshop during the white week from 30th mai to the 02nd june 2023 on the production site of bc materials in Brussels.
The students of M2.1 the architect changemaker developed a constructive approach based on geosourced materials in the previous semester, that will now in their M2.2 be scaled up into a 1:1 scale mock-up of an element representing the previously designed folly. The previous construction method and organisation of the prototype planning will be done by the M2 students, followed up by the aob team and put into reality together with the WF.M students during an intense 1 week workshop during the white week in Brussels, where we need you to construct, understand, collaborate with each other to make this 1:1 mock up become reality as a collaborative act of building. Through this act of building together you will share knowledge upon each other, learn how to organize a small construction site, handle and experiment with geo- and bio-based materials, exploring constructive systems through creation and understand the physical labor involved in construction.

Die Studierenden des M2.1 the architect changemaker haben im vorangegangenen Semester einen konstruktiven Ansatz auf der Basis von Geomaterialien entwickelt, der nun in M2.2 zu einem 1:1-Prototypen eines Elements, das den zuvor entworfenen Folly repräsentiert, hochskaliert wird. Die vorherige Planung der Konstruktion und die Organisation der Prototyps werden von den M2-Studierenden gemeinsam mit dem aob-team durchgeführt und dann zusammen mit den Wahlfach-Studierenden während eines intensiven einwöchigen Workshops im Rahmen der Weißen Woche in Brüssel in die Realität umgesetzt, wo wir gemeinsam konstruieren, das Arbeiten mit geo-basierten Materialien verstehen und kollektiv zusammenarbeiten um den 1:1 Prototypen als gemeinschaftlichen “act of building” zu realisieren. Praktisches Wissen wird durch Anwendung erlernt: die Organisation einer kleine Baustelle, der Umgang mit geo- und biobasierten Materialien, die Anwendung von konstruktiven Systemen im Selbstbau und das Verständnis von körperlicher Arbeit, die mit dem Bau verbunden ist.
