In the framework of the urban renewal of the City of brussels towards a circular (building) economy we are going to plan plan a hub for several brussels companies that are active in the production and distribution of circular building materials.

The actors are active in both distribution (office-work) as well as production (wood workshop, earth production company, second hand materials refinement) of urban-, geo- and bio-sourced building elements and will strengthen each other’s development through synergies that should in the new circular hub also be solved spatially: a building that has to be able to grow and change over time. Additionally an educational approach expands the typical productive program and asks for new spatial solutions.

The building itself will be constructed radically circular: completely reversible and flexible for adaptations with a consequent system division, low tech based on totally circular material choices!

Im Rahmen der Stadterneuerung der Stadt Brüssel hin zu einer Kreislaufwirtschaft planen wir ein Hub für mehrere Brüsseler Unternehmen, die in der Produktion und im Vertrieb von zirkulären Baustoffen tätig sind.

Die Akteure sind sowohl im Vertrieb (Büroarbeit) als auch in der Produktion (Holzwerkstatt, Lehmbaustoffproduktion, Veredelung von gebrauchten Materialien) von urbanen-, geo- und biobasierten Bauelementen tätig und werden sich gegenseitig in ihrer Entwicklung durch Synergien stärken, die im neuen Circular Hub auch räumlich gelöst werden sollen: ein Gebäude, das im Laufe der Zeit wachsen und sich verändern können muss. Zusätzlich erweitert ein pädagogischer Ansatz das typische Produktionsprogramm und verlangt nach neuen räumlichen Lösungen.

Das Gebäude selbst wird komplett zirkulär konstruiert: vollständig reversibel und flexibel für Anpassungen auf Basis einer konsequenten Systemtrennung, low tech und radikal ökologisch materialisiert.
